Quality pays off, every day

Was die KaVo Qualität auszeichnet.

Founded in 1909 in Berlin-Steglitz by Alois Kaltenbac in Biberach an der Riß, KaVo has built its world-renowned reputation on products and services that follow the mission statement: "Quality and Precision".

The mission statement doesn’t stop there, eithere. KaVo’s brand has the phrase “Dental Excellence” built into it, and a great variety of patents and utility models granted are the impressive proof of this claim. The company has repeatedly set new standards with their innovations – especially in the core business of instruments and treatment units.

More than 3,000 employees worldwide ensure high product quality, maximum customer focus and high customer satisfaction – and will continue to exceed the demands of their users in the future.

To date, KaVo has been able to sell several million instruments and treatment units worldwide including the KaVo EXPERTmatic E25 L speed increasing handpiece, which is one of the most successful instruments ever with more than 100,000 units produced and counting.

In Biberach innovation is teamwork – right from the start.

Dental Excellence: KaVo instruments and treatment units are manufactured at the main site in Biberach, Southern Germany.

To ensure that new KaVo instruments and treatment units manufactured at the main site in Biberach fulfill the highest requirements, innovations at KaVo always start with teamwork: specialists from R&D, marketing and sales work closely together on site in Biberach throughout the entire product development process.

The first drawings become 3-D data, the first material samples become final prototypes.

Test production for KaVo instruments and treatment units begins only when all KaVo specialists are convinced the product will enhance the dentists’ work in their practices – day after day.

While other suppliers have their headquarters in Germany, but production has been outsourced abroad, KaVo continues to rely on almost 100 percent German production. Let’s take the instrument side for example: all instruments are manufactured exclusively at the main plant in Biberach. The key point here is that in order to ensure the legendary KaVo quality, the plant in Biberach relies on a manufacturing depth of at least 95 percent. This means that almost all of the (up to) 50 components of a single KaVo instrument are manufactured in Biberach and are all subject to the same stringent quality controls.

Not only is every single instrument extensively tested before despatch, but also given a final polish.

First – shining – impressions last in practice, for the whole life of the instrument.

Original spare parts preserve value and ensure product safety

The KaVo EXPERTmatic E25 L is one of the most successful instruments with a production volume of more than 100,000 pieces.

KaVo's self-set high production standards are reflected in an equally stringent range of services. Because KaVo products are so valuable, their value must be maintained long term.

With the "original factory repair", we use only Original KaVo spare parts, so the highest quality standards are guaranteed. All original spare parts are subject to the strict KaVo quality management system.

The use of original spare parts preserves KaVo's factory warranty, CE marking and all-round service.

"Cheap repairs" compromise safety.

While safety is always a priority, this is also about meeting the highest demands from the Medical Device Regulation (MDR). Although there are numerous "inexpensive" repair shops that repair instruments with generic spare parts (meaning spare parts replicas), the cost savings that the dentist may make through a cheaper repair can’t compare to the costs incurred when the clamping element fails, for example, and a patient is injured by an instrument that is not repaired with original parts.

What you may not realise is that with the installation of replica spare parts, warranty and CE marking may expire, and product liability may pass from the manufacturer to the dentist.

If the KaVo service or the authorized service partner discovers that generics are installed in an instrument, the repair is consistently rejected.

Stay safe and reassured with our Certified Repair Partners.

Authorized repair shops and dealers, who only use original spare parts and have the appropriate qualifications, tools and processes are intensively trained by KaVo. What’s more, they recognizable as qualified specialist companies or dealers under the seal "Certified Repair Partner".

Maintaining and repairing your valuable KaVo instruments using original spare parts from our own KaVo service technicians, or authorized partners, is worthwhile in several respects: It maintains the factory warranty; it preserves the long-term value and thus the safety of users and patients and, in addition, the environment is spared by sustainability.
