Subgingival
Thanks to the bundled jet, you can work with extreme precision and, with marking in line with your WHO probe, you always have a perfect overview of the pocket as well.
Individually adjustable handpiece lengths provide even more sensitivity when cleaning pockets, particularly in subgingival applications.
The perio tip is for subgingival applications, but can also be used to clean implants, crowns and bridges, as well as eliminate discolouration on exposed tooth necks.

FAQs
The nozzle does not necessarily need to be changed. Unlike the PROPHYflex 3, there is only one nozzle available. This nozzle does not have to be removed for use or reprocessing.
In case of heavy clogging, the nozzle can be unscrewed using the rear of the key for the cannula. Afterwards, the powder tube can be cleaned from both sides with the cleaning burr.
The lowest power setting is almost powderless. It only pushes the leftover powder out of the handpiece. Therefore, this setting is not meant for the removal of discoloration.
This setting can be used to rinse leftover powder off the tooth. It also helps prevent clogging when rinsing the powder out of the handpiece after the use.
With conventional cannula systems, the powder stream is wider although its highest cleaning abilities is in the center of the stream.
With the PROPHYflex 4 cannula system, the stream is narrower, more homogeneous and gentler. This makes the new cannula system less abrasive.
If the abrasion is not high enough we advise to check the power settings. With the new cannula system, powders with higher abrasiveness can also be used, as even they become gentler.
The reprocessing seal redirects the cleaning media to the powder tube. Therefore, the seal must be placed on the handpiece to make sure that the powder tube is also properly reprocessed during mechanical reprocessing.
It is possible to reprocess the complete front part of the PROPHYflex 4 (cannula and holding part). This process has been validated and therefore is an option.
However, if there is a risk of there being a contaminated thread on the cannula (e.g. if the cannula has been screwed/unscrewed during the treatment), the parts need to be reprocessed separately.
No, the cap is meant to help with the preparation of the powders before the treatment. This way, different powders can be prepared and the treatment can be flexibly carried out according to the patient’s needs. The powder should not be reused because there is a risk of cross contamination.
A dedicated set is available to refill the Perio Kit. The Refill PROPHYflex perio tip (1.010.0287) contains 10 perio tips and can be used to refill the PROPHYflex 4 Perio Kits (1.011.9403) as well as the PROPHYflex Perio Kit (1.009.3731) used for the PROPHYflex 2 and 3.
It is not possible to use non-KaVo powders with the PROPHYflex 4.
