UX Light Technology
The Lumina’s new UX Light Technology is created by combining an innovative single-optical system with a unique collimator. It generates constant, pulse-free light of the highest quality.
The natural colour spectrum created by the UX Light Technology eliminates the need to adjust the colour temperature and enables optimised illumination of the molars without annoying reflections on the anterior teeth.
It also forms a new, ergonomic light field.
Smooth movement redefined
The combination of balanced structure and comfortable handles, inspired by Japanese chefs’ knives, perfects the smooth movement and positioning of the KaVo Lumina.
COMPOshape mode
The colour spectrum of the new COMPOshape mode with its reduced proportion of blue supports aesthetic layering. So thanks to improved colour and structure reproduction, contrasts are visible without premature hardening of the composite.
SPAlight mode
The SPAlight provides a play of colours consisting of shades of blue and green that have a proven calming effect, according to cutting-edge colour psychology.
This means it can be used to create a relaxing atmosphere and a spa-like vibe before and between treatments (only available with KaVo touchscreen units).

Light field
The KaVo Lumina’s large geometric light field is characterised by a precise upper edge and softly tapered light distribution to the sides and downwards.
This lamp eliminates sharp light edges and heavy light-dark contrasts, as this has been proven to tire the eyes and can limit the ability to concentrate.
The optimised light field of the KaVo Lumina protects the user’s eyes, while also preventing patients from being dazzled.
Gesture control
Intuitive, reliable, hygienic and rapid – this is what users expect when it comes to gesture control.
Of course, the KaVo Lumina’s sensor control fulfils all of these requirements.
But it goes even further, with standard operation via the automatic positioning of the treatment chair and control via the display of the treatment unit.
Laser mode
The Lumina’s UX Light Technology offers constant, pulsefree light, eliminating the need for a laser mode.
The normal light enables high-resolution image recording at any time and with a daylight-quality colour temperature, even with a smartphone.
The technology allows for seamless working with laser fluorescence devices like the popular DIAGNOdent Pen and lasers with a feedback system.

Ergonomic upgrade
Unnatural posture – especially when preparing the distal molar area of the upper jaw – is now a thing of the past. With the optional 3D hinge, the light field of the KaVo
Lumina can be synchronized with the rotation of the patient’s head, for up to 16 different preparation positions. Ergonomics for better back health – made by KaVo.
Patient communication
Rapid, easy analogue patient communication is also possible with the KaVo Lumina.
The optional foldaway mirror on the Lumina allows dentists to show patients their clinical situation at any time.
