The topic of hygiene has played a role at KaVo since the 1920s. At this time the first sterilizable handpieces were developed, and thus at this early point offered the doctor and the patient better protection from infection.

In addition, automated processes save valuable time and guarantee lasting operational reliability of your treatment unit.
Automated permanent germ reduction
Automatically operating permanent germ reduction with Oxygenal 6 prevents microorganisms from multiplying in your treatment system. The HYDROclean program in the ESTETICA E80/E70 Vision also provides for fully automated cleaning of the suction and drainage systems as well as disinfection with automatic dispensing of DEKASEPTOL Gel.
A plus for hygiene
In the KaVo treatment unit ESTETICA E80/E70 Vision, the containers of decontaminating agents and disinfectants can be introduced directly. The automatic dispensing and mixing of Oxygenal 6 and DEKASEPTOL Gel eliminates the time-consuming manual blending and refilling of the disinfectants by your assistants.

DVGW - Certified water block
The water block with free water inflow meets the DVGW requirements and prevents the possibility of back-contamination in your building supply line.

Better protection through the spray water non-return valve
Protect your water supply system with the anti-suckback retraction in KaVo MULTIflex couplings and motors. This function prevents contaminated spray water from being drawn back into the tubes of the treatment unit.

For us, hygiene already starts with material quality and processing. High-quality, easy to clean surfaces with minimal gap dimensions therefore are prerequisite for enduringly safe and hygienic operation.

Care and cleaning plan for treatment centers
In the morning
- Flushing the instrument hoses and water-bearing systems

In the evening
- Checking screen inserts
- Cleaning and disinfection of all equipment surfaces, cushions, lights and the mouth-rinsing bowl

Weekly
- Perform intensive disinfection of turbines
- Check return air filter
- Clean and disinfect instrument holder
After treatment
- Flushing the suction hoses, the suction system and the mouth-rinsing bowl
- Cleaning and disinfection of all equipment surfaces, cushions, lights and the mouth-rinsing bowl
As needed
- Disinfect and sterilize silicone trays
- Disinfect tumbler filler and holder
- Check return air filter, clean and disinfect instrument holder
- Check amalgam trap
For longer downtimes of more than 4 weeks, please repeat the intensive sterilisation process every 4 weeks. If the last intensive disinfection has taken place over a week ago, repeat the process on the first day on which the treatment is to be resumed. Schedule approx. 45 minutes for this procedure.
The treatment unit hygiene concept informs you of the hygiene measures: after treatment, in the morning, in the evening, weekly, as needed.
Maintenance plan KaVo uniQa Maintenance plan ESTETICA & Primus
This hygiene concept contains only the essential operating functions. It does not contain the Instructions for Use or the Care and Cleaning Schedule, which are part of the delivery. These absolutely must be followed to avoid problems and damage.
With the foot control, hygiene takes care of itself.
There is hardly any more effective way to prevent cross-infections than avoiding contact. Therefore you can control the patient chair and instruments of your KaVo treatment unit completely using the foot control, in other words, you do not need to touch your dentist's element during the treatment. With the wireless foot control there is not even a cable that needs to be cleaned.
Illumination for reliable hygiene
The KaVoLUX 540 LED not only supplies the highest-quality natural white light, but it is also best suited for reliable hygiene in practice thanks to the contactless operation.
Even the COMPOsave mode of the KaVoLUX 540 LED can be switched on and off without contact as necessary.
The closed housing with smooth surfaces and the removable hand grips offer even more hygienic benefits.
